About DMR 20 Tablet 10's

DMR 20 Tablet 10's contains an anti-tussive (relieve cough) medication primarily used to treat dry cough. Cough is a reflex action that helps to clear any foreign irritant or mucus in the throat. Mostly cough lasts for a short time (two to three weeks), so it is acute. But sometimes, if it is persistent for more than eight weeks it can lead to chronic cough. Dry cough refers to a cough where there is no mucus or secretion along with cough.

DMR 20 Tablet 10's contains Dextromethorphan, which is a cough suppressant. It works by blocking the cough receptor present in the brain, which is known to cause cough. DMR 20 Tablet 10's is generally prescribed for short-term treatment of dry cough. It does not treat chronic cough or cough caused due to smoking, emphysema, and asthma.

Take DMR 20 Tablet 10's as prescribed. Your doctor will advise you on how often you take DMR 20 Tablet 10's based on your medical conditionThe most common side effects of DMR 20 Tablet 10's are dizziness, drowsiness, sleepiness, confusion, and nausea. Most of these side effects of DMR 20 Tablet 10's do not require medical attention and gradually resolve over time. However, if the side effects persist or worsen, please consult your doctor.

Do not take DMR 20 Tablet 10's if you are allergic to DMR 20 Tablet 10's or Dextromethorphan. Increase the intake of fluids so that the mucus present loosens and the throat remains lubricated. DMR 20 Tablet 10's should not be stopped abruptly as it might lead to withdrawal symptoms like irritability, anxiety, diarrhoea, restlessness, and increased blood pressure. Directions for Use

Drug Interactions

Drug-Drug Interaction: DMR 20 Tablet 10's may interact with MAO inhibitor (isocarboxazid, phenelzine, rasagiline, selegiline, tranylcypromine), anti-arrhythmic medications (amiodarone, propafenone, quinidine and flecainide), opioid analgesics (codeine, tramadol, morphine, methadone), anti-anxiety medications (fluoxetine, paroxetine, sertraline) and anti-fungal (terbinafine).

Drug-Food Interaction: Avoid alcohol intake with DMR 20 Tablet 10's as it may cause increased drowsiness, dizziness, and lack of concentration.

Drug-Disease Interaction: If you have lung disease, depression, anxiety, or are taking Monoamine Oxidase Inhibitor (used for depression), inform your doctor before taking DMR 20 Tablet 10's.
