About Dirab 5 mg Tablet 10's
aDirab 5 mg Tablet 10's belongs to a class of drugs called 'proton pump inhibitors' used to treat gastroesophageal reflux disease (GERD), peptic ulcers and Zollinger-Ellison syndrome. Gastroesophageal reflux disease (GERD) occurs when stomach acid frequently flows back into the food pipe (oesophagus). Peptic ulcers are sores that develop on the inner lining of the intestine and stomach. Zollinger-Ellison syndrome is characterised by the formation of tumours in the upper part of the small intestine, which leads to excess acid production.
Dirab 5 mg Tablet 10's contains 'Dexrabeprazole' that works by blocking the action of proton pumps that are involved in producing stomach acid. Thereby, Dirab 5 mg Tablet 10's reduces the amount of acid produced by the stomach and prevents excess acid from flowing back into the food pipe. Thus, it provides relief from heartburn symptoms related to acid reflux.
Take Dirab 5 mg Tablet 10's as prescribed by your doctor. You are advised to take Dirab 5 mg Tablet 10's for as long as your doctor has prescribed it for you based on your medical condition. In some cases, you may experience diarrhoea, nausea, vomiting, headache, dizziness, stomach pain or constipation. Most of these side effects of Dirab 5 mg Tablet 10's do not require medical attention and gradually resolve over time. However, if the side effects persist or worsen, please consult your doctor.
If you are allergic to Dirab 5 mg Tablet 10's or any other medicines, please tell your doctor. Dirab 5 mg Tablet 10's is not recommended for children as safety and effectiveness were not established. If you are pregnant or breastfeeding, please inform your doctor before taking Dirab 5 mg Tablet 10's. Drive only if you are alert as Dirab 5 mg Tablet 10's may cause drowsiness. Avoid alcohol consumption as it may lead to increased production of stomach acid, thereby increasing acidity and heartburn. Inform your doctor if you have any risk factors for reduced vitamin B12 as Dirab 5 mg Tablet 10's may reduce the absorption of vitamin B12. If you get any skin rash, particularly in areas exposed to sun or pain in joints, inform your doctor.
