CLOPIXOL ACUPHASE INJECTION

About CLOPIXOL ACUPHASE INJECTION

CLOPIXOL ACUPHASE INJECTION belongs to a class of medications called antipsychotics used to treat schizophrenia (a mental illness) and other psychotic disorders. Additionally, CLOPIXOL ACUPHASE INJECTION may be used in the initial treatment of mania over the short term. Schizophrenia is a mental disorder that affects the ability of a person to feel, think and behave clearly.

CLOPIXOL ACUPHASE INJECTION contains Zuclopenthixol which works by inhibiting the dopamine (chemical messenger) receptors in the brain. Dopamine is involved in regulating mood, behaviour and emotions. Thereby, CLOPIXOL ACUPHASE INJECTION helps in controlling psychotic illness by preventing the overactivity of dopamine in the brain. Thus, it helps in improving feelings, disturbed thoughts and behaviour.

Some people may experience sleepiness, akathisia (inability to sit still or remain motionless), dry mouth, hyperkinesia (involuntary movements), hypokinesia (slow or diminished movements), constipation, muscle pain, tremor, or headache. Most of these side effects of CLOPIXOL ACUPHASE INJECTION do not require medical attention and gradually resolve over time. However, if the side effects persist or worsen, please consult your doctor.
