Ceftas-CL 200 Tablet 10's belongs to a group of drugs known as 'antibiotics' used to treat various bacterial infections. It effectively treats infections of the respiratory tract (pneumonia), urinary tract, ear, nose, and throat. It is also prescribed to treat STDs (Sexually Transmitted Diseases). Infectious or harmful bacteria can make you sick and reproduce quickly in your body. These harmful bacteria produce chemicals known as toxins, which can damage tissue and make you sick.

Ceftas-CL 200 Tablet 10's contains Cefixime, Cloxacillin and Lactobacillus sporogenes. Cefixime works by blocking the chemical (mucopeptides) released by the outer layer (cell wall) of the bacteria and destroying the bacterial cell wall. Cloxacillin blocks the third and last stage of synthesis of bacteria's outer layer (cell wall). Lactobacillus sporogenes help balance the number of beneficial bacteria in the digestive tract (gut) to manage water loss (diarrhoea) due to antibiotics or infections.

You are advised to take Ceftas-CL 200 Tablet 10's for as long as your doctor has prescribed it for you, depending upon your medical condition. You may experience certain common side effects, such as nausea, stomach pain, indigestion, and diarrhoea in some cases. Most of these side effects do not require medical attention and will resolve gradually over time. However, you are advised to talk to your doctor if you experience these side effects persistently.

Before starting Ceftas-CL 200 Tablet 10's, please inform your doctor if you have any allergy (against any antibiotic) or have kidney or liver problems. If prescribed by your doctor, Ceftas-CL 200 Tablet 10's is safe to use during pregnancy and breastfeeding but use with caution. It will not work for viral infections such as the flu or the common cold. Using any antibiotic when you do not need it can make it less effective for future infections.

It is known to interact with Ceftas-CL 200 Tablet 10's and affects its efficacy.

• Even if you feel better after taking Ceftas-CL 200 Tablet 10's, do not stop until your doctor says so. This might cause the symptoms to reappear and make the infection difficult to treat due to antibiotic resistance.
• Make sure you drink plenty of fluids when you are sick. This will, in general, help you clear out the infection faster, protect you from dehydration, and will help you overcome some unpleasant side effects of taking Ceftas-CL 200 Tablet 10's.
• Stop taking Ceftas-CL 200 Tablet 10's and inform your doctor immediately if you develop an itchy rash or swelling of the face, throat, tongue and breathing difficulties while taking it.
