Cefaxone 0.5 gm Injection 1's works by preventing the formation of bacterial cell covering, which is necessary for their survival. Thereby, kills the bacteria and helps in treating and preventing the spread of infections.
Cefaxone 0.5 gm Injection 1's may cause dizziness, so drive only if you are alert and omit driving and operating machinery if you experience dizziness.
Diarrhoea might be a side-effect of Cefaxone 0.5 gm Injection 1's. Drink lots of fluids and eat non-spicy food if you experience diarrhoea. If you find blood in stools (tarry stools) or if you experience severe diarrhoea, consult your doctor. Do not take anti-diarrheal medicine on your own.
Cefaxone 0.5 gm Injection 1's may affect the results of urine tests for sugar and blood test known as coomb’s test (antiglobulin test). Inform the person performing the tests that you are taking Cefaxone 0.5 gm Injection 1's.
Do not take antacids along with Cefaxone 0.5 gm Injection 1's; maintain a gap of 2-3 hours between both. However, consult your doctor before taking other medicines while on treatment with Cefaxone 0.5 gm Injection 1's.
