Biskit Capsule

Biskit Capsule belongs to the class of 'antibiotics', primarily used to treat vaginal infections, such as bacterial vaginosis (BV), candidiasis, trichomoniasis, and mixed infections with chlamydia and Neisseria. Bacterial vaginosis is caused by the change in the normal balance of vaginal bacteria. Vaginal yeast infection or Candidiasis is the infection of the vagina and tissues at the opening of the vagina (vulva). Trichomoniasis is a sexually transmitted infection caused by a parasite. Chlamydia is a sexually transmitted infection caused by bacteria. Symptoms of a vaginal infection include itching, odour and abnormal vaginal discharge.

Biskit Capsule comprises three medicines: Azithromycin (antibiotic), Fluconazole (antifungal), and Secnidazole (antibiotic). Azithromycin belongs to the class of 'macrolide antibiotics'. It works by inhibiting bacterial protein synthesis, which inhibits bacterial growth. Fluconazole belongs to the class of 'azole antifungal' agents. It stops the growth of fungi by causing damage and leakage to the fungal cell membrane. Secnidazole is an antibiotic that belongs to the class of 'amoebicides'. It works by stopping the growth of infection-causing bacteria.

Use Biskit Capsule as prescribed by the doctor. Common side effects of Biskit Capsule include taste changes, vomiting, headache, dizziness, stomach pain, nausea, indigestion, diarrhoea, and loss of appetite. These side effects are not familiar to everyone and vary individually. If you notice any side effects that are not manageable, please consult your doctor.

Inform your doctor if you are allergic to Biskit Capsule or any of its components. It is essential to tell your doctor if you use any other azole antifungal agents before using Biskit Capsule. Let your doctor know if you have any liver, kidney, gastrointestinal diseases (diarrhoea and colitis, inflammation of the colon), allergic conditions, ulcers or blisters, and urination problems. Pregnant and breastfeeding women should consult their doctor before starting Biskit Capsule. It is advised to avoid alcohol intake while using Biskit Capsule to prevent any undesirable effects.

Do not use Biskit Capsule if you are allergic to Biskit Capsule or any of its components. Let your doctor know if you have any liver, kidney, gastrointestinal diseases (diarrhea and colitis, an inflammation of the colon), allergic conditions, ulcers or blisters, and urination problems. Biskit Capsule is not recommended in case of severe renal impairment. It is advised to use Biskit Capsule under your doctor's supervision if you use other azole antifungal medicines. It is better to avoid Biskit Capsule during the first trimester of pregnancy. Biskit Capsule should be used with caution and only under a doctor's advice if you are a nursing mother. Do not drive or operate machinery if you experience dizziness or other side effects that may affect your mental ability to drive. Avoid alcohol consumption along with Biskit Capsule to avoid undesirable effects like flushing, increased heartbeat, nausea, thirst, chest pain, and low blood pressure. Do not take any antacids containing magnesium or aluminum for up to two hours after using Biskit Capsule.

It is advised to reach out to your doctor if the infection symptoms persist or worsen after two weeks of treatment.
