Betnovate C Cream belongs to a class of dermatological medication' Topical Anti-Infectives with Corticosteroids' used to treat skin conditions like eczema (itchy inflamed skin), psoriasis (red, itchy, scaly patch on skin), insect bites and other types of rash. Betnovate C Cream is a combination of two drugs, namely: Betamethasone (corticosteroid) and Clioquinol (antifungal and antiprotozoal). Betnovate C Cream treat fungal and bacterial infections of the skin. Also, Betnovate C Cream helps to reduce swelling, itching and redness caused due to specific skin problems. Fungal infection is a skin disease in which a fungus attacks the tissue and cause infection. Fungal infections may be contagious (spread from one person to another). The bacterial infection is a condition in which harmful bacteria grows in the body and cause infection.

Betamethasone belongs to the class of corticosteroids that works by acting inside skin cells and inhibits the release of chemical messengers in the body that cause redness, itching and swelling. When the skin reacts to any allergens, such chemicals are released typically. Clioquinol belongs to the class of antifungals with additional antibacterial action. It works by inhibiting the growth and multiplication of fungi and bacteria.

Betnovate C Cream is only for external use. Use Betnovate C Cream as advised by the doctor. Avoid contact of Betnovate C Cream with nose, ears, mouth or eyes. In case Betnovate C Cream comes in contact with these areas accidentally, rinse with water thoroughly. Some people may experience itching, irritation or burning sensation at the site of application. Most of these side effects of Betnovate C Cream do not require medical attention and gradually resolve over time. However, if the side effects persist, please consult your doctor.

If you are known to be allergic to Betnovate C Cream, iodine or any other medicines, please tell your doctor. If you are pregnant or a nursing mother, it is advised to consult a doctor before using Betnovate C Cream. Do not use Betnovate C Cream in more than prescribed doses, or for a prolonged time as it may cause adverse effects. Wear disposable gloves or wash your hands after use if you are applying Betnovate C Cream for others. Do not wrap or cover the treated area with airtight dressings unless advised by a doctor. Avoid using Betnovate C Cream for more than five days on face. Do not swallow Betnovate C Cream. In case of accidental swallowing, consult a doctor immediately.

If you are pregnant or a nursing mother, it is advised to consult a doctor before using Betnovate C Cream. Do not use Betnovate C Cream in more than prescribed doses, or for a prolonged time as it may cause adverse effects. Avoid using Betnovate C Cream for more than 5 days on face. Do not swallow Betnovate C Cream. In case of accidental swallowing, consult a doctor immediately. If you have rosacea (redness and often red, small, pus-filled bumps on the face), acne, perioral dermatitis (redness and swelling of the skin around the mouth), psoriasis, chickenpox, herpes, cold sores, athlete’s foot, ringworm, thrush, impetigo (blisters or red sores on the face and hands), genital itching or other skin problems, inform your doctor before taking Betnovate C Cream.

• Always clean the skin before putting a fresh dressing as the infection-causing germs like moist, warm conditions under dressings or bandages. 
• Avoid contact of Betnovate C Cream with nose, mouth or eyes. In case Betnovate C Cream comes in contact with these areas accidentally, rinse with water thoroughly.
