Benidin Trio Tablet 10's

About Benidin Trio Tablet 10's

Benidin Trio Tablet 10's belongs to a group of medicines called antihypertensives used to treat hypertension (high blood pressure) and reduce the risk of heart attack or stroke in adults. Hypertension or high blood pressure is a chronic condition in which the force exerted by the blood against the artery wall is high. It will be an addition to the workload of the heart and arteries.

Benidin Trio Tablet 10's consists of Chlorthalidone (diuretic), Benidipine (calcium channel blocker), and Telmisartan (angiotensin II receptor blocker). Chlorthalidone belongs to the class of diuretics (water tablets) that works by increasing the removal of excess water and certain salts, such as sodium and potassium, from the blood. This removal of water from blood reduces the fluid volume circulating through blood vessels and improves blood flow. Benidipine is a calcium channel blocker that acts on muscle cells in the artery walls and relaxes muscle cells. It relaxes and widens arteries (blood vessels) and improves the blood flow and oxygen supply to the heart. Telmisartan works by blocking a hormone called angiotensin II in the body that causes the narrowing of blood vessels leading to high blood pressure. Thereby, Benidin Trio Tablet 10's widens and relaxes blood vessels. Thus, it lowers high blood pressure.

Benidin Trio Tablet 10's should be taken as prescribed by your doctor. This medicine may cause side effects such as dizziness, headache, low blood pressure, stomach upset, or tiredness. Most of these side effects do not require medical attention and gradually resolve over time. However, if the side effects persist, please consult your doctor.

Benidin Trio Tablet 10's should be avoided if you are allergic to it. Benidin Trio Tablet 10's is not recommended for children below 18 years of age. If you are pregnant or breastfeeding, avoid taking Benidin Trio Tablet 10's and consult a doctor. If you are about to take anesthesia or undergo any surgery, you are advised to inform your doctor that you are taking Benidin Trio Tablet 10's. Drive only if you are alert, as Benidin Trio Tablet 10's may cause dizziness or tiredness. You are recommended to avoid alcohol consumption with Benidin Trio Tablet 10's as it may increase the risk of low blood pressure.

Disease/Condition Glossary

Hypertension: It is a chronic condition when blood pressure is too high. This condition can lead to hardened arteries (blood vessels), decreasing the blood and oxygen flow to the heart. Blood pressure is the measurement of the force that our heart uses to pump blood to all parts of the body. Raised blood pressure can cause chest pain (angina) and heart attack (when the blood supply to the heart is blocked). Additionally, high blood pressure also causes brain damage (stroke) and kidney failure. High blood pressure can be diagnosed with the help of a blood pressure monitor or sphygmomanometer. Systolic pressure is the pressure when the heart pumps blood out. On the other hand, diastolic pressure is the pressure when your heart is at the resting stage between heartbeats. If your blood pressure is 140/90 mm of Hg, it means the systolic pressure is 140 mm of Hg, and diastolic pressure is 90 mm of Hg. Ideal blood pressure should be between 90/60 mm of Hg and 120/80 mm of Hg.
