FAQs

Acigen Gel 170 ml is a combination of three drugs: Aluminium hydroxide (antacid), magnesium hydroxide (antacid) and dimethicone (antiflatulent). Aluminium hydroxide and magnesium hydroxide works by neutralising excess stomach acid. Simethicone works by decreasing the surface tension of gas bubbles, thereby facilitating gas expulsion through flatus or belching (burping). It also prevents accumulation and formation of gas in the digestive tract.
Do not take Acigen Gel 170 ml for longer durations unless advised by the doctor. Talk to your doctor if you do not feel better even after taking Acigen Gel 170 ml for 1-2weeks.
Diarrhoea might be a side-effect of Acigen Gel 170 ml. Drink lots of fluids and eat food rich in fibre if you experience diarrhoea. If you find blood in stools (tarry stools) or if you experience excess diarrhoea consult your doctor. Do not take anti-diarrheal medicine on your own.
Avoid lying down immediately after meals to prevent acidity. Raise the head of the bed 10-20cm by putting a pillow so that the head and chest are above the waist. This prevents acid reflux.
Do not stop taking Acigen Gel 170 ml on your own. Treat your condition effectually and continue taking Acigen Gel 170 ml for as long as your doctor has recommended it for you. Do not be reluctant to speak with your doctor if you experience any difficulty while taking Acigen Gel 170 ml.
Acigen Gel 170 ml should not be taken along with other medicines as it might affect how other medicines work. To prevent this, maintain a minimum gap between both.
